HISTORY

We can see various movies biographies on walls how a small place Punjab converted into vast region. It present how “Maharaja Ranjeet Singh Ji”managed the different parts of his state Punjab. We can observe the battles of Sikh Gurus and Maharaja with invaders from another countries for the safety of Punjab.

1. one gallery shows the battles of “Guru Gobind Singh Ji” with different Muslims kings         for the security of Punjab. It defines their pathetic condition during battles which               present the devotion of “Guru Gobind Singh Ji” towards Sikh People.

2. In Patel building, there are life like figures in centre of building. They are the clones           of “Maharaja Ranjeet Singh Ji” and their supporters who fought a number of battles           for the protection of Punjab.

3. We can also see the Coins, Stamps, Letters which were used by kings of different                 areas for the export and import of their production and money.

4. We find a explanation of management and inter connection between different                   systems such as Legislative, Executive,and Judiciary system in Sikh Regime.

5. Journey of development of Sikh Literature such as “Guru Granth Sahib Ji”, “Adi                   Granth Sahib Ji”, “Dasam Granth”, and “Sarbloh Granth” during the age of Sikh                     Gurus and Maharaja Ranjeet Singh ji can be observed here.

Therefore, The Virasat-e-Khalsa is a storehouse of Punjabi Culture, Religion, and                 History which shows us a real picture of Punjab. RELIGION

The inner gallery in Virasat-E- Khalsa museum give us a real description of the origin and development of Sikh religion. It tell us the growth of Sikh religion from first Guru “Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji” to “Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji”. It also explains the preaching methods of different Sikh Gurus in different periods.

1. It shows that the roots of the religion grow through the efforts of first Guru “Shri                  Guru Nanak Dev Ji” who preached the Sikh followers by travelling from one place              to another.

2. Guru Nanak Dev Ji told Sikhs to apply three teachings in their everyday life “Hard              Work”, “Sharing”, and “Praying”. Guru Ji also constructed the “Brotherhood”    and                “Langar System” convections which are still exist today in Sikh religion.

3. The tenth Guru of Sikhs “Guru Gobind Singh Ji” formed Khalsa in 1699 at Anandpur            Sahib which is considered as a modified type of Sikh Religion.

4. Sikhs were told to wear a turban, carrying a comb,wearing a underwear, carrying          a kirpan, wearing a kada.they are the symbols of Sikhism.

5. It reflects us about formation of “Shri guru Granth Sahib Ji” by Guru Arjun Dev Ji               which is a holy scripture of Punjabi culture.

6. This museum presents the most  famous religious place of Punjabi People which is            “Golden Temple”. It has an amazing architecture. The most interesting feature of                 this place are the four gates of it which give message that it is open for everyone                 without discrimination of race, religion, color, and caste.

VIRASAT-E-KHALSA

Virasat-e-Khalsa is an outstanding tourist attraction of Punjab. It is placed at Anandpur Sahib which is very close to the capital of Punjab Chandigarh. It was established in April 13, 1999 by Amardeep Bahl. It has two sections with open space for exhibitions. This museum consists numerous features such as a auditorium which has a capacity of 400

seats. Apart from this, there are different exhibition gallaries and a library which includes various Journals, Magazines and Religious books of sikh History and Punjabi Culture. Virasat-e-Khalsa is a storehouse of Culture, History, And Religion of Punjabi people.

CULTURE:-

When we enter into the main section of Virasat-e-Khalsa. we can observe the murals on walls standing on a walkway which reflects number of things about Punjabi Culture. It  gives explaination of  living, moral, beliefs.

1. It defines a real architecture of Punjabi villages in previous times. And the systematic        designing of houses which presents the interconnection between personal and social        of that time.

2.It depicts that clothing of Punjabi People such as  men wear “Kurta Pajama” and                    women prefer to wear “Punjabi Salwar Suit”.

3. The images of social gathering places such a ” Satth” reflects the brotherhood and              caring nature of Punjabi people.

4. Besides this, it shows the various Festivals, Rituals, Customs, Ceremonies of Punjab         such as Diwali, Lohri, Anand Karaj and Vaisakhi. There are numerous antique pieces in  this gallay such as Spinning Wheel, Bull-Cart, Radio, Cycle, Handmade Fans, Phulkari.

5. The Famous Dance forms of Punjab “Giddha” and “Bhangra” can also be observed             here. People of Punjab express their joys and get relief from their everyday stress              and troubles.
